ABSTRACT
In this study, we investigated the relationship between serum glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) autoantibody (Ab) levels and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of de-carboxylase 2 (GAD2) 5'-untranslated region susceptibility to type diabetes in Han population. The distributions patients with SNPs GAD2 (rs2236418, rs185649317, rs8190590) that healthy group were genotyped analyzed using Sequenom MassArray SNP genotyp-ing. GAD-Ab also detected. frequency AA, AG, GG genotypes polymorphic site rs2236418 GAD-Ab-positive 45.9, 42.8, 11.4%, respectively, whereas those control 36.6, 43.7, 19.8%, respectively. difference groups was statis-tically significant (P < 0.05). Unlike genotype, AA + AG increased risk (odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) = 2.623 (1.351-4.937) 2.152 (1.375-4.202), respectively). associations 3 gene 5'-un-translated diabe-tes Chongqing population significant. diabetic significantly correlated rs185649317 rs8190590.
