Recommendations for the COVID-19 Response at the National Level Based on Lessons Learned from the Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

ABSTRACT
The tenth outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in North Kivu, the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC), was declared 8 days after end ninth EVD outbreak, Equateur Province on August 1, 2018. With a total 3,461 confirmed and probable cases, Kivu second largest that West Africa 2014-2016, observed DRC. This difficult to control because multiple challenges, including armed conflict, population displacement, movement contacts, community mistrust, high density. It took more than 21 months with critical innovations systems put into place. We describe were place during response DRC can be leveraged for current COVID-19 global pandemic.
