Clinicoepidemiologic Characteristics and Prevalence of Venous Insufficiency in Patients with Pigmented Purpuric Dermatosis

ABSTRACT
Objectives: To describe clinic-epidemiological characteristics of pigmented purpuric dermatosis (PPD) and to assess the potential relationship between venous insufficiency PPD. Materials Methods:We retrospectively reviewed medical records all patients diagnosed with PPD at University Health Sciences Türkiye, İstanbul Training Research Hospital dermatology clinics January 2010 September 2022.Clinical, demographic, radiological were examined. Results:The study included a total 195 patients, which 111 female (57%).The mean age was 44.25±19.99years, average disease duration 15.4±24.1 months.The most common subtype Schamberg's (66%), followed by Majocchi's (16%), lichen aureus (8%), lichenoid dermatitis Gougerot-Blum (7%), eczematid-like purpura Doucas Kapetanakis (2%).Almost (99%) had lesions on their lower extremities, while only 26 (13%) upper body.Lesion distribution bilateral in 167 (87%) cases.Venous Doppler ultrasonography performed 101 detected 24 (23.8%) them.There no statistically significant differences terms age, gender, without insufficiency.There correlation laterality lesion distribution. Conclusion:Considering is reported affect 7% 30% general population, our implies that its occurrence may not be higher than contrary prior research.
