ABSTRACT
Objective: Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) is the most severe form of extra pulmonary tuberculosis.Bacteriological confirmative tests based on mycobacterial cultures or polymerase chain reaction are time-consuming process may not help diagnose every TBM patient. Therefore, practical and easily applicable scoring systems be helpful in early diagnosis should applied clinical follow-up process. Methods: The features 20 patients with were retrospectively evaluated according to Thwaites' diagnostic indexes (TDSI) Marais' (MDSI) beside a prediction model (CPM) this study.MDSI, CPM, viral, brucellar, fungal etiologies excluded by microscopic, serological, molecular examinations cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) blood all patients. Results: All assessed for TDSI (100%).Of these, 5 (25%) considered probable TBM, 15 (75%) possible MDSI.The scores greater than equal 6 cases 13 which scored as 9 points (65%). Conclusion:According outcomes our study, TDSI, MDSI, CPM assessment methods techniques rapid accurate diagnosis.
