Living with Stroke in North Cyprus: Which ICF-Based Biopsychosocial Factors are Related to Community Participation?

ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND/AIMS: Improved treatment and rehabilitation care opportunities are resulting in increased numbers of stroke survivors.Accordingly, well-preserved community participation survivors is becoming more important to maintain a person's psychological social status improve their quality life.This study aimed investigate the relationships among sociodemographic characteristics, clinical International Classification Functioning, Disability Health (ICF)-based biopsychosocial factors, living Northern Cyprus. MATERIALS AND METHODS:This cross-sectional recruited 43 participants.The characteristics participants were recorded.Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Stroke Impact Scale 3.0 (SIS), Fall Efficacy (FES), Fatigue Severity (FSS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Quality Environment-Short Form (MQE-SF), Community Integration Questionnaire (CIQ) used collect data.RESULTS: The who did not use assistive devices had higher (p<0.05).On other hand, sex, lesion type, affected body side have relationship with (p>0.05).As Brunnstrom stages (Upper extremity: r: 0.455, p: 0.002; Lower 0.608, p:0.000) scores FIM (r:0.809,p:0.000),SIS (r:0.766,p:0.000), MQE-SF (r:0.467,p:0.002) increased, CIQ (p<0.05).However, as age (r:-0.413,p:0.006) FES (r:-0.752,p:0.000),FSS (r:-0.479,p:0.001), BDI (r:-0.783,p:0.000) decreased (p<0.05).CONCLUSION: To increase participation, need be assessed holistically by considering all factors ICF model including multidisciplinary rehabilitation, which will lead better outcomes.Community level Cyprus related base
