Local anesthetics provide a loss of sensation on the injection site without causing consciousness and alteration in central control vital functions (1).However, local may cause responses, including irritation site, cellular toxicity, temporary neurological symptoms, systemic reactions such as anaphylaxis, methemoglobinemia, anesthetic toxicity (LAST) (2).The use high doses increases risk achieving toxic plasma levels.Accidental intravascular also LAST (2).In recent decades, using to regional analgesia patients with trauma AbstractObjective: The primary aim this study is evaluate knowledge, perception, attitudes residents working intensive care units from different disciplines about (LAST). Methods:Residents anesthesiology reanimation, internal medicine, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic cardiology were enrolled after they obtained written informed consent.The participants answered 41 questions LAST.Results: A total 148 [median age 28 (24-44) years, 56.1% male] study.Of them, 34.5% stated that received education anesthetics, 22.3% declared their subject was sufficient.The most used methods for preventing appropriate (74.3%), pre-injection aspiration (65.5%), monitoring (63.5%).Of participants, 59.5% indicated did not know whether there 20% lipid-emulsion hospital 72.3% unit.The had low knowledge rate early late symptoms LAST.They gave rarely correct answers loading, maintaining, maximum lipid emulsion.The basic principles cardiopulmonary resuscitation generally well known by but optimal length follow-up duration convulsion instability not.
