ABSTRACT
Objective: Female emergency department (ED) patients with abdominal pain require consultation and investigation for accurate diagnosis thus prolonging their stay. Materials Methods:This study employed a retrospective design focused on female who sought medical attention at an between April September 2015.The included were referred to general surgery (GS) and/or obstetrics gynecology (OB-GYN) clinics consultation.Other variables the length of stay (LOS), duration consultations, recommendations provided in notes, laboratory imaging results.Results: The data 1,146 analyzed over period 6 months.Upon analysis hospitalization discharge status, it was concluded that there no statistically significant disparity terms (LOS) (p=0.611).Patients underwent CT scans, had negative β-hcg results, or surgeon longer stays department. Conclusion:The sequential administration examinations consultations prolonged patients' ED stays.Thus, standardized protocol is widely believed be necessary.
