ABSTRACT
Oxidative stress (OS) is due to a disturbance in the balance between production of free radicals and antioxidant defense, resulting predominance over endogenous anti-oxidant defenses. OS may have many causes. Pregnancy, especially delivery, are associated with increased OS. The relationship maternal infant prooxidant-antioxidant (PAB) unclear. Therefore, aim present study was compare PAB mother baby pairs. This cross-sectional conducted 104 mothers normal term infants during 2017-2020. measured healthy before delivery umbilical cord samples after delivery. Data on characteristics including age, gestational birth weight, Apgar score, history duration mother’s education, weight last month, gravidity were collected using researcher-made questionnaire. compared by statistical methods. In this study, mean neonates 30.76 214.87 HK, respectively. results revealed moderate association neonate but it not significant.Overall, level oxidants antioxidants reduced pregnancy found that relative incidence neonatal increases increasing PAB.
