ABSTRACT
To determine the incidence of long bone fractures and clinical features related with these diagnosed in neonatal intensive care units (ICUs) within province Afyonkarahisar Turkey.The clavicular was 2.4 1000 live births, femoral 0.32 births at ICUs Afyonkarahisar.The birth trauma-related fracture 0.16 osteopenia prematurity 1.08 births. The mean gestational age delivery 39 weeks, weight 3.308 grams, male/female ratio 3:2 for newborns fractures. 30.4 1256 2:3 who had prematurity. Breech presentation present three (60%), cesarean section type all fractures.Cesarean does not reduce risk trauma-associated fractures, there is a cases emergency performed malpresentation. In order to overcome prematurity, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D should be supplemented premature intrauterine growth retardation receive long-term total parenteral nutrition.
