ABSTRACT
The role of urban planning capacity development in ensuring that cities are engines growth and Africa cannot be downplayed. However, limited research has examined how is responding to urbanisation emerging cities. Using mainly data gathered from key informants analysis relevant documents, the study found curative plans were increasingly used compliment master effort improve upon inner development. Google earth, satellite imagery, remote sensing, aerial photography also employed preparation schemes. These developments notwithstanding, was still weak because various dimensions not consciously developed as an integrated system.
