ABSTRACT
Purpose: To evaluate the anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-acetylcholine esterase activities of betulinic acid (BA) 3β- acetoxybetulinic (BAA) from Melaleuca bracteata. ‘Revolution Gold’.Methods: Betulinic was isolated ethyl acetate extract M. braceteata while BAA synthesized by acetylation BA. Structural elucidation compounds achieved spectroscopic methods. Antioxidant potential determined using superoxide dismustase (SOD) catalase assay kits iron chelation activity assessed with ferrozin. Anti-inflammatory cotton pellet-induced granuloma rat model. Cyclooxygenase (COX) evaluated COX kits; acetylcholine kit used for anti-acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) study.Results: The significantly (p < 0.05) dose-dependently inhibited ACHE inflammatory activity. They also decreased inhibition SOD, but increased in a dose-dependent manner. However, showed higher than BA all parameters. had greater inhibitory effect on COX-2 COX-1.
