ABSTRACT
Objectives: To study clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the patients treated at clinic "Integrated Dentistry for Patients with Special Needs (Special Care Dentistry)" Complutense University Madrid (UCM), as well to know dental treatments performed in these modifications from usual treatment protocol.The information obtained results could also be applied order assess needs students education about this type patients.Study Design: Medical records review all referred Needs", performing a retrospective cross-sectional analyzing their main pathology, ASA risk score (Classification system used by American Society Anesthesiologists estimate posed anesthesia various patient conditions), pharmacological treatment, what kind was necessary, whether or not, if it required change any procedure due health status (sedation antibiotic prophylaxis).Results: The number 447, whom 426 were included study.Out them, 52,35 % men 47,89 women, mean age 49,20 years.More frequent pathologies cardiovascular cerebrovascular diseases (24,29 %), infectious (12,41%), endocrine (11,66%) intellectual disability (8,85%).70'18% treated, sedation being necessary 9,03% cases prophylaxis 11,70%.
