ABSTRACT
Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) is a benign, self-limiting inflammatory entity that mainly affects the minor salivary glands located in hard palate.Classically, NS characterized as nodule evolves to central ulcer. The most widely recognized triggering factor an ischemic event. The diagnosis becomes challenge non-ulcerated cases which essential rule out possibility of gland tumors, especially malignant ones. Here, we presented case 32-year-old male patient with 1-month complaint painful, slightly elevated erythematous area on palate.Incisional biopsy was performed, and diagnosed based histopathological immunohistochemical analyses.Clinicians should be aware consider differential particularly when it presents clinical aspect.
