Correlation of chest CT and RT-PCR testing in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Turkey

Aim: Chest CT plays an important role in the treatment and diagnosis of COVID-19.It is to remember that patients with RT-PCR test positive for COVID-19 infection may have normal chest CT.Material Methods: This study included who underwent tests, as well suspected confirmed cases according algorithm Institute Science Ministry Health Turkey were this study.The divided into two groups negative results.These subgroups: findings compatible without them.When was taken gold standard, specificity, sensitivity, PPV, NPV, accuracy rates investigated detecting infection.Results: 192 418 patients.The scan 43% (82/192) whose results positive.Chest 25% (108/418) negative.In 31% (190/610), COVID-19.When a reference, accuracy, sensitivity values terms 44% (95% CI, 392/610 patients), 82/192 74% 310/418 patients) respectively.Discussion: According these data, we think not very successful infected COVID-19, contrary literature.Clinicians should always be careful identify thorax or testing.
