ABSTRACT
On this study the theoretical and practical approach of an optimal geodetic referenceframe realization is described in detail. The Hellenic area due to its strong geodynamic behaviorcreates a rather inhomogeneous velocity field. This issue plays critical role stable longtermgeodetic datum. methodology Minimization Kinetic Energy Criterion(MKEC) defined analyzed on permanent GNSS network consisting 151 stations. Thesites velocities values were estimated from seven years continuously data. applicationformula shows that kinematic energy minimized more than 60 percent two differentapproaches for International Terrestrial Reference Frame European TerrestrialReference System 1998 (ETRS89). In addition, ETRS89 Greeceis not offering any significant advantage. However, we proposed new strategy, which minimizesthe total kinetic it found effective local areas with activity likethe Greece case.
