ABSTRACT
Evaluate well-being and burnout among preclinical medical students in a Caribbean school identify the associated factors. It was questionnaire-based, cross-sectional study which conducted of Trinity Medical Sciences University (TMSU), Saint Vincent & Grenadines. Student Well-Being Index Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey were used. The total number participants who gave informed consent 82. For statistical analyses, internal consistency instruments tested by Cronbach’s alpha. t-test, Fisher’s exact test, Pearson correlation multivariate regression model analysis index(WBI-MS) showed that during past month 78% experienced due to emotional exhaustion 61% depersonalization, 63.4% felt depression, 19.5% fatigue, 65.9% suffered from stress. significant association found between index, credit hours allotted for semester, depersonalization/cynicism. Also there negative academic efficacy cynicism. also once week or more often 58.5 % exhaustion, 34.2% depersonalization 26.8% low professional efficacy. But level (severity) less comparison with score. Our revealed had index high very increased score cynicism, negatively affected their possible causes obtained results identified necessary strategies will be implemented improve outcomes.
