ABSTRACT
Background: Novel methods for teaching are needed to enhance the efficiency of academic anesthesia departments as well provide approaches learning that aligned with current trends and advances in technology. Methods:A video was produced taught key elements machine checkout room set up.Novice learners were randomly assigned receive either new format or traditional lecture-based this topic during their regularly scheduled lecture series.Primary outcome difference written examination score before after between two groups.Secondary satisfaction trainees groups.Results: Forty-two students group 36 completed study.Students each had similar interest anesthesia, pre-test scores, post-test final exam scores.The median posttest pretest greater (3.5 (3.0-5.0)vs 2.5 (2.0-3.0), groups respectively, p < 0.002).Despite improved test reported higher traditional, (22.0 (18.0-24.0)vs 24.0 (20.0-28.0),for <0.004).Conclusions: Higher improvements observed among video-based group, however rated live lectures than newer teaching.
