ABSTRACT
Colic in horses is an emergency frequently encountered by clinicians. Prompt and precise evaluation of each case mandatory to determine the need for surgery. Prognosis also a crucial part decision-making process regarding management options. The present study evaluates relevance routinely used haematology biochemistry blood parameters at time patient admission as tools aetiology type prognosis colic cases. Clinical exams analysis were drawn from 46 admitted with signs acute abdominal pain. Horses further divided into groups according survival. Heart rate, respiratory rate temperature differed significantly between survivors non-survivors. Serum albumin lactate reliable prognostic factors. Similarly, heart serum gamma-glutamyl transferase concentrations strangulating non-strangulating types. can efficiently guide clinicians during
