ABSTRACT
In the present study, treatment of slaughterhouse wastewater was carried out in a sequential batch reactor. A lab-scale column type reactor fabricated with Perspex material having dimensions 10 cm diameter, 100 height, and an effective volume 7 liters provided ports at different levels. The performance evaluated terms COD, BOD, TSS, TKN, phosphorus removal. operated for 432 days; effectiveness is temperature removal efficiencies COD BOD were84% 80% maximum TSS around 87% TKN’s efficiency 61% aerobic treatment. Phosphorus 68%, meantime pH alkalinity were also monitored, no change reported throughout experiment. On other hand, SBR using after DAF unit. same manner, initially diluted (05 times) kept HRT 8 h. studied phosphorus. 81% respectively. 73%, 81%, 69% It concluded that better anaerobic process as compared addition generation methane gas during degradation organic matter can be used operating unit by making some necessary arrangements. Besides this, it TKN process. There buildup VSS from 4500 mg.L-1 to 6500 study.
