ABSTRACT
Studies on fungal taxonomy and diversity are crucial for a better understanding of the interactions between fungi their habitats. To date, there is no published record macrofungal in Pulau Bidong, Terengganu. Therefore, this study aimed to identify macrofungi species found with respective substrates determine island. The was conducted at two different occasions comprised trails near Universiti Malaysia Terengganu Research Station Collection fresh made additional data including host information, distinctive features each sample several environmental parameters also recorded. Fresh specimens were later observed identified before being dried prior storage. Overall, 65 2 unidentified belonging 21 families 34 genera Trail A trail B recorded index 2.67 3.14 Shannon Index while Simpson 0.90 0.94 respectively. dominated by family Polyporaceae rare discovered from Tricholomataceae, Hericiaceae, Stereaceae, Schizophyllaceae, Sclerodermataceae, Dacrymycetaceae, Tremellaceae, Russulaceae Clavulinaceae. most common decayed branches other trunks leaves, soil, termite mounds, living tree. In conclusion, randomly distributed high both trails. it recommended that an increase sampling trips, efforts areas covered be provided number accuracy studies future.
