ABSTRACT
A 9-week feeding trial was conducted to investigate taurine distribution by supplementation of methionine in juvenile Megalobrama amblycephala at a constant dietary cystine level. Six semi-purified diets were formulated contain graded levels from 0.39-1.54% about 0.25% increments. At the end trial, plasma content significantly increased with increasing level 0.39 1.0% (P < 0.05) and thereafter reached plateau. The muscle, intestine, liver, eye fish fed ranged 1.24-1.54% higher than that control group 0.05). Taurine brain 1.54% diet 0.39% Cysteine sulfinic acid decarboxylase 0.39-0.85% stayed similar Supplementation total protein (TP) content, complement 3 (C3) superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity (0.85% groups), aspartate transaminase (AST) (1.24% groups) albumin (1.0% groups). Supplemented groups had decreased urea In conclusion, these results indicate crystalline can be utilized efficiently, blunt snout bream able convert directly, appropriate improves non-specific immune responses bream.
