Physical Activity and Well-being Status among Employees of University of Medical Sciences

ABSTRACT
Background: Workplace physical activity plays an important role in employees' health.As university employees are a population at risk for sedentary working pattern, this study aimed to investigate the status of Iran University Medical Sciences (IUMS) and its subsequent effects on their well-being.Methods: This cross-sectional included 472 from different units IUMS Tehran.The participants were selected by multistage sampling method.Interviews conducted using international questionnaire, questionnaire stages behavioral change, World Health Organization Well-being Questionnaire, demographic checklist July October 2019.Analysis variance, t test, logistic regression analysis used.Data analyzed IBM SPSS (Version 21.0).Results: Total was 6216.58 ± 5886.09MET-minutes/week.The mean score well-being index 54.72 22.4; there association between sex location work with domains (p<0.05).The highest prevalence rates change stage found maintenance men contemplation women.There significant difference women's index-men reported being more active energetic than women (p<0.001).Results also revealed that having vigorous compared moderate level could increase index.Conclusion: Physical behavior workplace associated level.It could, therefore, be postulated enhancing may beneficial improving academic environment.
