The Effects of Covid-19 on Financial-Economic and Performance Efficiency of Hospitals

ABSTRACT
During the pandemic of COVID-19, function and performance hospitals have been affected by various economic-financial management aspects. The aim current study was to assess process therapeutic care delivery also functions selected before after COVID-19.This research is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional-comparative in terms time, it conducted several teaching Iran University Medical Sciences. A purposeful convenient sampling method used. data has collected using standard tool (standard checklist Ministry Health) two areas financial-economic healthcare (such as Data financial economic indicators such direct indirect costs, liquidity ratio profitability index well key bed occupancy (BOR; %), average length stay (ALOS), turnover rate (BTR), distance (BTIR) hospital mortality (HMR), physician-to-bed nurse-to-bed ratio) times outbreak COVID-19 (time period 2018 2021). from 2021. Pearson/Spearman regression used for evaluation relationship between variables SPSS 22.This showed admission patients caused change we evaluated. ALOS (-6.6%), BTIR (-40.7%), discharge against medical advice (-7.0%) decreased BOR; % (+5.0%), occupy days (+6.6%), BTR (+27.5%, HMR (+50%), number inpatients (+18.8%), discharges (+13.1%), surgeries (+27.4%), nurse-per-bed (+35.9%), doctor-per-bed (+31.0%) increased same time. correlated all except net death rate. Higher interval had negative effect on while higher rate, ratio, day, inpatient admission, surgery positive index.It shown beginning pandemic, studied were negatively affected. As consequence epidemic, many not able deal with outcomes this crisis due significant decrease income double increase expenses.
