The background of this article is the disclosure problem hegemony in literary works that reflect various forms male power over women Minangkabau ethnic group. Based on problem, purpose to describe form community from perspective Antonio Gramsci's theory. source research data a novel entitled Perempuan Batih by A. R Rizal. primary text sourced which was collected using library method. results study show manifested through a) moral and social control, such as prohibition men work freely public spaces, regulation selection prospective husbands according eligibility standards brothers; b) right speak gender relations between husband wife marriage; c) imposition ideal masculine ideology terms regulating financial matters, economic welfare household; d) emotional manipulation way disguise unequal relations. have implications for efforts re-examine importance involvement references formulation socio-cultural policies midst society must care about feminine gender.
