ABSTRACT
Tourism product is associated with livelihood of both rural and urban population. one the leading sectors in valley followed by horticulture, providing employment to a huge chunk population whether skilled or unskilled. industry only sector which working throughout year be it summer winter. The present paper an attempt analyse potential growth tourism economy Jammu Kashmir examine issues concretisation at tourist spots/destinations. During 2015-16, total number foreign tourists visited was recorded 58568. playing pivotal role U.T. evident from fact that accounts for 5.92 per cent India’s GDP 8 & economy. But, during turmoil period (1990-2000), general particular worst hit, there unrest every nook corner valley. results revealed though contributes generation but analysis data astonish recorder less than 1 % observed past two decades. infrastructure created leaps bound destination, has posed serious challenges threats various socio-economic characteristics like employment, living standard, income, environmental degradation obviously greenery destination. But are certain modernisation destinations sustainable region.
