ABSTRACT
We review recent progress in the study of parton propagation, interaction and fragmentation both cold hot strongly interacting matter. Experimental highlights on high-energy hadron production deep inelastic lepton-nucleus scattering, proton-nucleus heavy-ion collisions, as well Drell-Yan processes hadron-nucleus collisions are presented. The existing theoretical frameworks for describing in-medium energetic partons space-time evolution their into hadrons discussed confronted to experimental data. conclude with a list open issues, brief description future relevant experiments facilities.
