ABSTRACT
A primary motivation for research in Digital Ecosystems is the desire to exploit self-organising properties of natural ecosystems. arc thought be robust, scalable architectures that can automatically solve complex, dynamic problems. However, biological processes contribute these have not been made explicit Ecosystem research. Here, we introduce how features These include populations evolving agents, a complex environment, and spatial distributions which generate local interactions. The potential exploiting artificial systems then considered.
