ABSTRACT
The phenomenal success of certain crowdsourced online platforms, such as Wikipedia, is accredited to their ability tap the crowd's potential collaboratively build knowledge. While it well known that collective wisdom surpasses cumulative individual expertise, little understood on dynamics knowledge building in a environment. A proper understanding environment would enable one better designing environments solicit from crowd. Our experiment systems based annotations shows an important reason for rapid due variance expertise. First, we used our test bed, customized Crowdsourced Annotation System (CAS) which provides group users facility annotate given document while trying understand it. results showed presence different genres proficiency amongst annotation system. We observed ecosystem system comprised mainly four categories contributors, namely: Probers, Solvers, Articulators and Explorers. inferred garnering happens synergetic interaction across these categories. Further, conducted analysis dataset Wikipedia Stack Overflow noticed portals well. From this study, claim universal characteristic all portals.
