ABSTRACT
With the fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks being actively standardized and deployed, many new vehicular communications technologies are developed to support enrich various application scenarios. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabled emerges as one of promising solutions constructing next-generation highly reconfigurable networks. In this article, we first investigate envision challenges future UAV applications from net-work, system, hardware design perspectives, then pre-sent a base station (ABS) prototype which works at millimeter-wave (mmWave) bands enable multi-beam mul-ti-stream communications. terms field trial tests UAV-ABS its kind in world, multi-giga-bit-per-second data rate uplink downlink is verified with good stability reliability against mildly challenging weather conditions.
