ABSTRACT
This report was submitted as part of the SKA Low Frequency Aperture Array Critical Design Review describing design SKA1-LOW station that took place between 2013 and 2018. The SKA1 LOW field is inscribed in a circular area having an effective diameter (centre to centre) 38 meters has 256 SKALA4 elements. document describes electromagnetic station. In particular it layout modelling characteristics effects associated with array such mutual coupling effects, side lobe pattern beam shape (eg. smoothness, calibration models) presents state art our ability measure performance validate simulation work. current LFAA node requirements, derived from L1 have evolved over last years since PDR System Baseline Design. been designed meet those requirements therefore tracked their evolution sensitivity diameter, etc.). aforementioned represent very tight space desire for high large frequency range (7 1) wide view (90 degrees cone around zenith) while keeping minimum, so filling factor but at same time allowing sufficient antennas allow easy maintenances, amongst many others. results complex design.
