ABSTRACT
Sequence diversity is one of the major challenges in design diagnostic, prophylactic and therapeutic interventions against viruses. Herein, we present DiMA, a tool designed to facilitate dissection sequence dynamics for As base, DiMA provides quantitative overview by use Shannon's entropy, applied via user-defined k-mer sliding window an input alignment file. Distinctively, key feature that interrogates dissecting each position various motifs, defined based on incidence distinct sequences. At given position, index predominant sequence, while all others are (total) variants index, sub-classified into (most common) variant, minor (occurring more than once frequency lower major), unique (singleton) variants. Moreover, allows metadata enrichment motifs. big data ready interactive output, depicting multiple facets diversity, with download options. It enables comparative genome/proteome analyses, within between sequences viral species. The web server publicly available at https://dima.bezmialem.edu.tr.
