ABSTRACT
We present mid-infrared spectroscopic observations of the nucleus nearby Seyfert galaxy NGC 7469 taken with MIRI instrument on James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) as part Directors Discretionary Time Early Release Science (ERS) program 1328. The high resolution nuclear spectrum contains 19 emission lines covering a wide range ionization. ionization show broad, blueshifted reaching velocities up to 1700 km s$^{-1}$ and FWHM ranging from $\sim500 - 1100$ s$^{-1}$. width broad narrow line flux ratios correlate potential. results suggest decelerating, stratified, AGN driven outflow emerging nucleus. estimated mass rate is one two orders magnitude larger than current black hole accretion needed power AGN. Eight pure rotational H$_{2}$ are detected intrinsic widths $\sim 125-330$ estimate total warm gas $\sim1.2\times10^{7}$M$_{\odot}$ in central 100 pc. PAH features extremely weak spectrum, but $6.2μ$m feature an equivalent $\sim0.07μ$m $2.7\times10^{-17}$ W m$^{-2}$ detected. steeply rising mid-infrared, silicate strength $\sim0.02$, significantly smaller seen most PG QSOs, comparable other 1's. These early IFU data highlight JWST probe multi-phase interstellar media surrounding actively accreting supermassive holes.
