ABSTRACT
In ultraviolet (UV) astronomical observations, photons from the sources are very few compared to visible or infrared (IR) wavelength ranges. Detectors operating in UV usually employ a photon-counting mode of operation. These detectors have an image intensifier sensitive and readout mechanism that employs photon counting. The development readouts for these is resource-intensive expensive. this paper, we describe low-cost detector processing unit Raspberry Pi with its built perform Our system can operate both 3x3 5x5 window modes at 30 frames per sec (fps), where also enables provision detection double events. be quickly readily available custom-off-the-shelf (COTS) components thus used inexpensive CubeSats small satellite missions. This solution promises broaden access advancing research possibilities space-based astronomy.
