ABSTRACT
We investigate the effect of QCD critical point on isentropic trajectories in phase diagram. out that universality equation state and third law thermodynamics require specific entropy (per baryon) along coexistence (first-order transition) line to be non-monotonic at least one side line. Specifically, a maximum must occur. show how location relative depends parameters commonly used literature. then examine followed by adiabatically expanding heavy-ion collision fireballs behave near point. find crucial role is played sign isochoric temperature derivative pressure point; this determines which curve (i.e., has maximum). classify different scenarios adiabatic expansion arise depending value discriminant parameter proximity trajectory
