The CODEX-$\beta$ apparatus is a demonstrator for the proposed future CODEX-b experiment, long-lived-particle detector foreseen operation at IP8 during HL-LHC data-taking. project, intended to collect data in 2025, described, with particular focus on design, construction, and installation of new apparatus.
