ABSTRACT
Longitudinal melanonychia (LM) is a common clinical finding. Most cases of LM are benign, and wait-and-see approach preferred in the management this condition. Nevertheless, it important for clinicians to distinguish subungual melanoma (SUM) from other benign LMs.To evaluate demographic clinicopathologic characteristics Korean population identify predictor SUM against conditions. This was single-center retrospective cohort study including patients who underwent nail biopsy January 2000 May 2019. To SUM, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses performed.A total 68 biopsy-proven were included analysis. Among cases, 8 SUM. In univariable analysis, diagnosed with older (p=0.035) had longer disease duration (p=0.004). They also showed multicolor pigmentation (p=0.022), larger width (p<0.001), associated plate dystrophy (p=0.010) than conditions. multivariable logistic regression, statistical significance (odds ratio, 1.083; 95% confidence interval, 1.018~1.153). ROC analysis suggested that an >28% whole (area under curve=0.883; p<0.001).SUM has distinct features. The can predict LMs.
