ABSTRACT
Biodegradable waste is the most significant percentage in overall generation, which has become a challenging environmental problem, as does sewage sludge, requires further treatment before agricultural use. This study aimed to evaluate supplementing effect of two types dry sludge on composting food using barrel. Results showed significance (p<0.05) adding either natural dried (NDS) or polymerinfused (PIDS) achieving thermophilic condition needed for pathogen inactivation. Moreover, addition PIDS met standard criteria soil conditioners. The potentially toxic elements (PTEs) like Pb, Zn, and Cu, falls into threshold limits, while other elements, such Ca, S, K, Mn, reached range plant nutrients, can be essential ideal growth. The morphological aid scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirmed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis provided alternative evidence heavy metal reduction due greater charge buildup specimen.
