ABSTRACT
Results: Poisoning has been reported as cause of admission and death in Portuguese rescue centres both mammals birds [3,4].Strychnine, insecticides, anticoagulants rodenticides, molluscicides, heavy metals have all wildlife poisoning events Portugal.Clinical cases accidental intentional carnivorous prey (4,5).Iberian wolfs, Iberian lynxes, red foxes, vultures, kites, eagles rooks are among the most frequently species.Stomach contents, blood, urine, liver kidneys used samples to detect these substances perform forensic diagnosis [1,5].Conclusions: may represent a threat some fauna, since affected species endangered essential ecosystem stability.New regulations, monitoring programs better resources crucial quickly intervene suspicious rehabilitation centres; minimize impact this wild species.
