ABSTRACT
Pulmonary nodules (PNs) with a diameter from 5 to 10 mm exhibit malignancy rates anywhere 47.5 61.5%. Despite the potential danger posed by these lesions, their small size makes biopsy of sub-centimetre (≤ mm) PNs under computed tomography (CT) guidance very difficult.A meta-analysis was performed goal evaluating safety and diagnostic utility CT-guided procedures for PNs.Relevant studies published through April 2023 were identified in PubMed, Web Science, Wanfang databases used conduct pooled analyses selected endpoints, including technical success, yield, accuracy, pulmonary haemorrhage, pneumothorax rates. In total, this incorporated which 1482 patients underwent procedures. Among patients, respective 90%, 60%, 91%, 11%, 24%, significant heterogeneity detected all endpoints (I2 = 93.6%, 96%, 76.9%, 80.8%, 93.6%). A substantial difference accuracy observed when comparing using fine- core-needle approaches (85% vs. 95%), whereas use co-axial method or approach (conventional cone-beam CT) had no impact on accuracy. Needle type, method, haemorrhage pneumothorax.CT-guided represents safe effective means accurately diagnosing PNs.
