ABSTRACT
Background:The most hazardous wastewater sources in the northern part of Middle Nile Delta, Egypt; receiving a massive amount agricultural, industrial, and sewage drainage are Kitchener drain which is one tallest systems, Burullus Lake represents 2nd largest Egyptian coastal lake. Results: The current work to determine abundance frequency cyanophytes, chlorophytes, bacillariophytes correlation between them environmental abiotic components.Among sixty nine microalgal species, 19 species belong Cyanophyta, 26 Chlorophyta 24 Bacillariophyta.Genus Scenedesmus (Chlorophyta) was abundant study area (13 species), followed by Genus Oscillatoria (9 species) Navicula (7 species).Nostoc muscorum Chlorella vulgaris were common recorded all sites (100% locations) under study. The application two-way indicator analysis (TWINSPAN) detrended correspondence revealed agglomerating 4 groups (communities) at 4th level classification reasonable segregation these groups.Zinc, cadmium lead showed highest levels (0.26 ± 0.03, 0.26 0.06, 0.17 0.01 ppm, respectively). Conclusions:The water community variables indicated high negative total algae richness with nickel (r = -0.936,p < 0.01).Cyanophyta Bacillariophyta correlated negatively -0.842,p 0.01).However, each Ni Pb -0.965,-0.873, respectively) on hand positive 0.964) other hand.
