ABSTRACT
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death. PD-L1 blockers have become a first-line option for advanced non-small cell lung (NSCLC) patients. Guidelines require assessment expression by immunohistochemistry. Although tissue samples are widely used, cytologic could be an alternative. In this study, we compared with evaluation in NSCLC cases.Koç University Hospital, Department Pathology Laboratory Information System was scanned all tests performed on cases, either or blocks. The type biopsy/aspiration procedure, tumor type, patient demographics, and percentage positive cells were recorded. A total 73 49 blocks found to eligible study. The positivity score at least 1% 44 group 19 block group. Tissue showed significantly higher (p=0.020). Comparing frequency cases ≥50% no statistically significant difference. comparison rates only small biopsies also difference.Although they harbor limited number cells, prepared from good alternatives testing. However, large resections should used whenever possible since even may affect treatment decision.
