ABSTRACT
To measure the auditory (pure tone audiometry and word recognition scores) vestibular (video head impulse test myogenic potentials) outcomes in patients diagnosed with Meniere's disease (MD) who underwent cochlear implantation. This prospective study included 23 implant users MD 29 far-advanced otosclerosis (the control group). The preoperative mean pure average thresholds were 99 122.5 dB for groups, respectively. Word scores after yielded a median of 80% 72% Semicircular canal gain was not observed to vary post implantation (mean variation lateral, posterior, anterior plane 0, 0.03, respectively). The ocular cervical potentials asymmetry varied as 9.65% 18.39%, respectively. The performance improved similar general population. No major dysfunction otolithic or semicircular function demonstrated surgery.
