ABSTRACT
This article discusses the usage of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) as IP-datalink for one or multiple micro unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).LTE offers robust coding schemes well very high sensitivity receivers. In environments highly limited transmit power, LTE therefore promises much better coverage in comparison to commercially applied UAS-datalinks like Wi-Fi Lightbridge (DJI).Within this article, two commercial LTE-networks are evaluated and necessary IT-infrastructure communication with UAS is specified. We also describe integration our multicopter-UAS into a LTE-network.Thereby we developed Linux-based tablet solution guidance via LTE.This includes transmission live-video stream from LTE.In contribution, present results flight experiments conducted at testing site. The show that small drones (including telemetry sensor data) public infrastructure feasible.Quantitative performance measurements will be presented paper.Future work comprises setup an own LTE-network LTE-network.
