<p>Satellite radar interferometry is widely considered as one of the most robust and reliable techniques for ground motion monitoring at local scale over wide areas. In recent years, satellite has undergone a rapid evolution thanks to launch Sentinel-1 constellation, refinement algorithms, increased computational capability offered by cloud computing platforms. All these factors allow development national or regional services based on interferometric data. Italy, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands are first European countries working develop their own Ground Motion Service (GMS) scale.
