ABSTRACT
Microplastics (MPs) are ubiquitous in all kinds of water matrices. The different properties MPs facilitate their role as carriers emerging contaminants like pesticides, pharmaceuticals, PFAS and surfactants. Hydrophobic pesticides have a high tendency to be adsorbed on non-polar substances such MPs. widespread use atrazine has caused it omnipresent the environment, leading concurrent presence with partitioning fate sorbed governed by various environmental conditions physicochemical characteristics interaction enables serve vectors for transport aquatic media. In this work, sorption polyethylene was investigated batch adsorption studies. characterization conducted using FTIR, SEM XRD. By examining atrazine, an mechanism is proposed. PS mainly van der Waals forces pore-filling mechanism. effect contact time ATZ examined. Contact used compare results experiments necessary establish equilibrium that can experiments. It found pseudo-second order model better fit than pseudo first order-model based highest R2 values obtained. Finally, effects salinity pH were also measured relatively limited. study prove act aqueous medium.
