Current status and future plan for KIM operational system

ABSTRACT
Korea Institute of Atmospheric Prediction Systems(KIAPS) is currently developing a numerical weather prediction model, including data assimilation system, to replace the Unified Model(UM). The KIAPS Integrated Model(KIM) consists spectral element-based non-hydrostatic dynamical core using finite-volume method and physics packages. system adopted hybrid 4D-EnVAR. 4D-EnVAR means that combined KIM VARiational system(KVAR) Local Ensemble Transform Kalman Filter(LETKF) technique. members uses 50 members. To evaluate performance KIM, it one important factors understand by operating combining individually developed systems. Operational System(KOS) constructed cycle experiments cylc meta-scheduler, which widely used various operational agencies research laboratories. cyclical involves process every 6 hours, Package for Observation Processing(KPOP). were performed DA systems at 4 times day, 10-day forecasts are execute 00 12 UTC due model verification. Each task was written python scripts configured efficiently parallelize meta scheduler. pre- post-processing progress can be executed independently. Post processing contains visualization remap from cubed-sphere grid lat/lon grid. In addition, remapped displayed on monitoring verification stable operation forecasting system. All procedure carried out automatically without any user.
