ABSTRACT
There is a growing recognition by city policymakers that urban public transport systems can be developed in such way travelers offered an alternative to car-based travel. How evolve the system for this purpose significant challenge and raises questions of accessibility quality largely absent from current planning evaluation. This paper explores use performance measures, both assess extent as potential metric future investment. The Spatial Network Analysis Multimodal Urban Transport Systems (SNAMUTS) tool employed analysis accessibility. A sample 21 international cities assessed, representing range land-use policy contexts best ordinary practice, including those held up exemplars infrastructure, service planning, delivery Europe North America. findings show incidence successful metropolitan systems, measured patronage, linked measures network configurations.
