ABSTRACT
The dynamics in dryness over the Baltic Sea region during observation period of 1960–2009, as well climate prediction for 21st century have been evaluated this research. investigated area has examined using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI). precipitation amount data provided by Climate Research Unit (CRU) at University East Anglia used study. Projections future changes are based on output regional CCLM model driven A1B and B1 emission scenarios. increase SPI values, i.e. a decline dryness, found last fifty years major part area. However, probability short-term droughts remain high against background general decrease dryness. increased analyzed only southern region. Similar also foreseen century. is expected to south (especially summer), while central northern parts likely witness recurrence drought decrease.
