ABSTRACT
A multi-indicator paleolimnological study of sediments from Lake Ķūži (central Latvia) was used to obtain a comprehensive record environmental changes in the Holocene. Periodicity and main drivers (lake basin development, catchment properties, climate, human activities) sedimentary studied. In order comprehend whole-lake sedimentation during Holocene, detailed multiindicator central part lake integrated with records sediment mass accumulation rates four cores different parts GPR (ground-penetrating radar) survey basin. The observed regime that took place early Holocene are strongly linked variations climatic conditions, but also played an important role. middle water level stable influenced by climate mediated through vegetation. Around 5 000 cal. BP pattern changed, three made comparably strong impact on signal. Since 2 multiple indicators point major disturbance clearly related activity, which conceals natural drivers.
