Saberes geográficos, tensiones de alteridad y teatros del martirio en las cartografías jesuíticas del Nuevo Mundo

Based on a Jesuitical cartographic work about the Mojos region, I aim to analyze how XVIII century cartographies have embodied some practices and tropes of geographical representation from precedents centuries. For doing this, in first part territorial knowledge for make visible porosity between multiples forms (scientific, popular, theological) knowledge. Secondly, alterities «the others» order see Jesuit oeuvres placed alterity European cultural universe. In third part, place martyrs’ representations larger context mise en scène, show this cartographical reproduces world like theater universal enterprise.
